چکیده

This study examines the mass and Lagrangian transport, kinematic dynamic characteristics of shallow-water breaking waves, focusing on wave breaking, jet impingement processes. A multiphase Navier–Stokes flow model has been developed to track origin trajectory for splash-up using both a geometric piece-wise linear interface calculation volume-of-fluid (PLIC-VOF) particle tracking approaches. The is first validated quantitatively qualitatively against experimental data plunging during in which good agreement obtained. transport are studied new multi-component PLIC-VOF approach, different regions interior tracked an Eulerian way. Both horizontal vertical drifts surface particles shown particles. location can be clearly seen from simulations. Various steepness beach slopes have investigated types breakers. Furthermore, detailed impingement, velocity, pressure, vorticity, turbulence fields discussed presented, providing more gain further insight into waves.

Oil Droplet Transport under Non-Breaking Waves: An Eulerian RANS Approach Combined with a Lagrangian Particle Dispersion Model

Oil droplet transport under a non-breaking deep water wave field is investigated herein using Computational Fluid dynamics (CFD). The Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS) equations were solved to simulate regular waves in the absence of wind stress, and the resulting water velocities agreed with Stokes theory for waves. The RANS velocity field was then used to predict the transport of buoyant...

Visual Simulation of breaking waves by Lagrangian and Euler's method

A particle-based method is one of the most commonly used methods for fluid simulations. It is useful to simulate irregular and complex fluid motion with topological changes. Since the waves are generated from the collision of particles and the breaking wave phenomenon occurs when the waves collides with the city, the particle-based method provides a best way to simulate the breaking wave as wel...

Shallow Water Waves and Solitary Waves

Glossary Deep water A surface wave is said to be in deep water if its wavelength is much shorter than the local water depth. Internal wave A internal wave travels within the interior of a fluid. The maximum velocity and maximum amplitude occur within the fluid or at an internal boundary (interface). Internal waves depend on the density-stratification of the fluid. Shallow water A surface wave i...

A Parallel 2D Lagrangian{Eulerian Model for the Shallow Water Equations

An implementation of a parallel 2D Lagrangian{Eulerian model solving the shallow water and salinity transport equations on a massively parallel Multiple Instruction Multiple Data (MIMD) machine (nCUBE 2) is presented. Operator splitting in the basic equations leads to a coupling of the Method of Characteristics with the Finite-Element Method (FEM). The set of linear equations in the FEM are sol...

Combined Eulerian-Lagrangian or Pseudo-Lagrangian Descriptions of Waves Caused by an Advancing Free Surface Disturbance

We develop a new methodology for the numerical modeling of nonlinear free surface waves, caused by an advancing free surface disturbance, based on combining Lagrangian and Eulerian, or pseudoLagrangian, methods for the time updating of free surface geometry and motion. We solve potential flow equations with a threedimensional (3D) higher-order Boundary Element Method (BEM; Grilli et al., 2000, ...
